This Privacy Policy explains what information GetClipped (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the GetClipped marketplace at getclipped.live (the “Service”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash by our auth provider), and account type (creator or clipper).
Profile information
Information you choose to add to your profile: bio, avatar, channel URL, content niche, platform list, AI tools used, and portfolio links. Clippers also provide editing-style preferences (pacing, captions, sample clip).
Marketplace activity
Jobs you post, proposals you submit, messages you send, files you upload (audition clips, delivered clips), ratings you leave or receive, and retainer contracts.
Payment information
When payments are enabled, payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or bank account details — we only retain a Stripe customer/account identifier and metadata about each transaction (amount, status, related job).
Technical information
Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request timestamps) and cookies needed to keep you signed in.
2. How we use it
- To run your account and let you use the marketplace
- To match creators with relevant clippers and vice versa
- To process payments through Stripe (when enabled)
- To send transactional emails — proposal updates, deliveries, ratings, password resets
- To detect abuse and keep the platform safe
- To improve the product based on aggregated usage
3. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we use to run GetClipped:
- Supabase — authentication, database, file storage
- Vercel — application hosting
- Stripe — payment processing (when enabled)
- Resend — transactional email
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of GetClipped or its users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account and marketplace data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal information within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
5. Your choices
- Access & correction: you can view and edit most of your information from your profile and settings pages.
- Deletion: email us at hello@getclipped.live to delete your account.
- Email: transactional emails (job updates, deliveries) are part of the Service and can't be turned off while your account is active. Marketing emails, when we send them, will always include an unsubscribe link.
6. Security
Passwords are hashed. Connections are encrypted with TLS. Uploaded clips are stored in a private bucket and accessed via short-lived signed URLs. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and let us know if you spot anything off.
7. Children
GetClipped isn't directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK), and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll remove the account.
8. International users
GetClipped is operated from South Africa and uses cloud providers based in the US and EU. By using the Service you consent to your information being processed in those regions.
9. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy in a material way, we'll update the “last updated” date and notify active users by email.
